The small number of cookies and local-storage entries we use, and why we do not run tracking or advertising cookies.

1. What we use

We keep cookie use to the minimum the service needs. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers on this site, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss.

• sessionid — keeps you logged in as an applicant or employer. Expires when you log out or after two weeks of inactivity.
• csrftoken — a security cookie that protects forms from cross-site request forgery. Session-length.
• lb_lang_* style preference cookies — remember a display preference such as your chosen language, if you set one.
• Employer portal: the portal keeps your sign-in token in your browser's secure local storage rather than a cookie, and clears it when you log out.

2. Managing them

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the session cookie is what keeps you signed in — without it you will have to log in on every visit. Blocking cookies does not affect your ability to browse and apply for jobs.
